The St. Andrews Society of Oakland will hold its first (and we hope last) Virtual Burns Night, celebrating the life and works of Scotland’s Bard – Robert Burns (1759 – 1796) on February 12, 2021, starting at 6:30pm.
Tickets for the virtual event only are free. Those who want an actual (not virtual) plate of haggis, neeps and tatties along with a free dram may sign up for only $20.00 each. Meals can be picked up in Pleasanton after 2:00pm on February 12, or, if needed, delivered to your home in the Pleasanton Area.
Please only sign up once. Haggis meal ticket includes the virtual Burns Night on zoom.
This is a fun filled evening of Scottish Culture, Music and Dance!
You will be entertained by the talented members and friends of the Society as they toast the Queen, The President, Absent Friends, the Lasses, and anything else that they can think of. A highlight will, of course be the Immortal memory of Robert Burns. After all the food and toasts, join us for some virtual ceilidh dancing in the comfort of your own home.
Dress code is Scottish casual: Lasses, if you have a wee bit of tartan to add to your outfit, you will fit right in; Men, a kilt and casual shirt is perfect.
